RAVA UPMA - How to make Rava Upma

Ingredients:
- Rava/Sooji - 1 cup (250ml)
 - Onion - 1 finely chopped
 - Green chillies - 2
 - Curry leaves - a twig
 - Dry red chillies - 2
 - Ginger - a small piece finely crushed and chopped
 - Carrot - 1
 - Beans - 3
 - Mustard - 1/2 teaspoon
 - Urad dal - 1/2 teaspoon
 - Chana dal - 1 teaspoon
 - Asafoetida - 1 pinch
 - Salt - As needed
 - Ghee - 4 tablespoon
 - Oil - 4 tablespoon
 - Water - 3 cup water
 - Cashews - 3/4 pieces
 
Method:
- Heat a pan and add the oil.
 - Once the oil is heated enough, splutter some mustard seeds, urad dal, chana dal and asafoetida.
 - Now, add the onions, ginger, curry leaves, green chillies and red chillies.
 - When the onion turns transluscent, add the salt.
 - Add the water and raise the flame, till the water boils up.
 - Add the Rava by stirring the water and simmer the flame.
 - Cover with a lid, and let it cook for 3-4 minutes.
 - Now, open the lid, and add 2 tablespoons of ghee.
 - Once the rava is completely cooked, turn off the flame and add the remaining ghee over the upma.
 
Note: Dry roast the rava, before cooking.
