VEGETABLE MOMOS - How to cook Veg. Momos

Ingredients:
For Dough:

  • Maida - 1.5 cup
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Water - For kneading
  • Oil - For greasing

For stuffing:

  • Oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic - 3 pods finely chopped
  • Ginger - 1 piece finely chopped
  • Green chilly - 2 finely chopped
  • Carrot - 1 grated
  • Beans - 2 finely chopped
  • Cabbage - a small piece finely chopped
  • Spring onion - 2 stems chopped
  • Salt - As needed
  • Soya Sauce - 1 teaspoon
  • Pepper - 1 teaspoon


Method:

  1. First, to prepare the dough, mix the maida and salt.
  2. Add the water, and knead it into a fine dough.
  3. Grease some oil over the top and cover the bowl with a wet cloth.
  4. Heat a pan and add the oil.
  5. Add chopped ginger, garlic, green chilly, carrot, beans and cabbage.
  6. Sautè them for 10 mins till the veggies got cooked.
  7. Add the soya sauce, salt and pepper.
  8. Fry them for a minute and sprinkle some spring onions.
  9. Pick a small ball from the dough, and roll out using roll pin by dusting maida.
  10. Roll it into a thin circle and put small amount of stuff in the centre.
  11. Start pleating the edges slowly and gather everything.
  12. Press in the centre, and seal the momos.
  13. Place a steamer and arrange the momos in a tray, without touching other.
  14. Steam momos for 10-12 mins or till shiny sheen appears.
  15. Turn off the flame and plate the momos.
