GARAM MASALA - How to make Garam masala

Serving: 1 cup

Ingredients:

  • Cinnamon - 6 to 8 pieces
  • Cloves - 2 tablespoons
  • Black Cardamom - 2 to 4 seeds
  • Green Cardamom - 2 tablespoons
  • Pepper corns - 1 tablespoon
  • Coriander seeds - 1/2 cup
  • Fennel seeds/Saunf - 1 tablespoon
  • Cumin seeds/Jeera - 1/4 cup
  • Mace/Javitri - 3 strands
  • Star anise - 1
  • Nutmeg - 1 small piece


Method:

  1. Pick and remove the stones from all the spices.
  2. Roast all the spices in a low-flame except Coriander seeds, Saunf and Cumin seeds
  3. Fry them till aroma arises and turning into golden brown.
  4. Now, roast Coriander seeds, till aroma begins.
  5. Transfer it to a plate, and roast Saunf and Cumin seeds.
  6. Now, blend all the spices and powder it finely.
  7. Sieve the powder twice and store it in a sun dried glass jar.
  8. Use the Coarse debris for Masala tea.
